Office Reality - Bad Superiors Everywhere

Through my past work experience, I gather that you will never run out of terrible superiors who makes your already difficult workplace a living hell. So you can't escape one for long.

My current starts well till my new job scope kicks in and I have to report to a superior who is not making life very easy for me. How professional is a manager if he/she makes damaging comments in front of your colleagues behind your back in a meeting? Not too professional I gather... haiz.... think I just have to live with it and deal with this manager's demand.

Luckily I have a trump card - our division boss, who is a good boss to work with and listens to his staff. So I think I will survive and I am not going to throw in my white towel soon. I will stick around longer that she is. I believe the sweetest revenge is to work happy, disregard his/her unreasonable demands and not let him/her gets their way.

Rather than to be sulky about it, fight back when necessary and be on the happy side. The more happy you are, the more upset they will be. One day they would just back off and leave you alone. The trick is strike back when necessary and strike where it really hurts. It works for me before and it will continue to work.

Warning - Avoid Drinking Fresh Sugar Cane Juice

Please take 2 mins to read this. This email was sent by a friend whose father is working with the Ministry of the Environment in Singapore.

Health News - About Sugar Cane Drinks

A friend whose father works for the government health inspection passed on his info. Their job is to inspect all hawkers, their cooked food, their store hygiene, etc. They found sugar cane juice has the highest content of bacteria among all food. In fact, it has exceeded the set limit.

Hence, these guys had to find out why. They went round all sugar cane stores and watched the way the hawkers handled their sugar cane, wash their glasses, their entire procedure. But they couldn't find the problem.

One day, they stayed till losing time and discovered some shocking facts! Whenever, the hawkers closed their stores, they would wash the floor with detergent. As we know, the remaining sugar canes will be placed at the back of the store, vertically standing and as sugar canes are very porous, they tend to absorb whatever liquid around them.

Besides the soapy water, the dirt on hawkers' boots, cats' urine, etc, will all be absorbed?? Now, whenever I eat at a hawker centre, I would warn all my friends about this and of course I stopped drinking my favorite sugar cane juice.

A friend, who loved sugar cane juice, was pregnant. She was always drinking sugar cane juice. Anyway, one day she miscarried and the foetus was already like 6 or 7 months old, I think. When the doctors did an autopsy to find out why all of a sudden the foetus had died inside her, they found traces of some chemical substance, which was found in cat urine. Large traces of it.

While it would not be able to harm adults, it was extremely toxic to babies, what more a fetus? So they tried to determine how this cat urine thing could have ended up in the fetus. This meant that it had to be digested by the mother, right? And the only logical conclusion they could come up with was that since these sugar cane juice stall holders just leave the canes lying around on the wet and dirty floor, it would not be impossible to think that stray cats could have peed on those sugar canes or near those sugar canes. So think carefully the next time you order that favorite sugar cane juice!

Please pass this on to everyone you know in Singapore & Malaysia. Let's take action to make this world a better & safer place for all of us & the generations to come.

My Honeymoon Working Life is Over.....

Hey... just a few weeks back I was always complaining about not having enough to do, dozing off in work... blah blah... Now I really regret that, because things have changed and I am so busy that I hardly have time to drink water.

I think it must have been my karma or my retribution for having such good times during my first 2 weeks in work.

Sometimes I wonder if my boss gets to know about my blog or he's been reading my draft which I send back to my personal mail via company email. Stupid of me to do that.... Well I guess I just have too much confidence in others on respecting my privacy.

Well I guess I just have no choice but to spend more time on work and now less time on my blog. Good bye my honeymoon... time for real shit work. :((

Correct way of cooking INSTANT NOODLES

The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and health. `Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat.

This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles.

By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structures of the MSG causing it to be toxic.

The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coated with waxand it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have taken the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD :

1. boil the noodles in a pot with water.
2. once the noodles is cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax.
3. boil another pot of water till boiling and put the noodles into the hot boiling water and then shut the fire.
4. only at this stage when the fire is off, and while the water is very hot, put the ingredient with the powder into the water, to make noodle soup.
5. however, if you need dry noodles, take out the noodles and add the ingredient with the powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Please share this info and help save a life.

Does not cost much to be kind

Is life really weighing us down that it has become very hard to be kind to surrounding people? I wonder why... on the practical sense, it dun cost much to be nice to people, sometimes just a "thank you" will do. I have a experience to share.

I was at the food centre and my table was full of bowls that were not cleared. So one of the cleaner came by and I requested him to clear. Obviously he dun seem to be in a good mood and seemed quite reluctant with the extra work. Nonetheless he still obliged and swiftly cleared up the table. As usual, I just thanked him for his work and he seemed surprised and stunned in a way. But it still do the magic and brought a smile on his face, while he said "You're welcome" before moving on to the next table. Afterwards I realised that he paid special attention to the cleanliness of my table and seemed eager to clear up the table for me.

Although there are times that people dun respond back, but it's okay, I am not expecting returns! I just hope that somehow people can be touched or feel better, while they move on happily, just like the movie "Pay it Forward" which is based on true story. I love it and it fits my life philosophy. Which is why I am very angry if I saw someone being treated badly. Share with you a incident which I overheard.

Again at food centre and again my table was full of bowls not clear but not for a long. A lady came by and cleaned the table swiftly. As usual, I said thank you again and she return the gesture. While waiting for my husband to brought me my food, I looked around, observing people. Then I saw that same lady speaking to her colleague as she was complaining how another table has treated her. This is what I overheard.

She said that as she was politely asking a man who sat at the table whether it was okay for her to clear off the bowls on the table. But the man just looked at her and not said anything. Then the child who was sat beside him, passed her the saucer plate to clear but the man said to the child, "Dun!! You dun have to be bother with her. Why talk to her?"

When I heard this, I really can't understand what has made this man so bitter and be so rude. I really pity the child, because his life may be affected in some way if he picks up the same attitude towards life and people.

No man is a island and it is day to day routine to be interacting with people. So why start off with a vicious cycle by being bad to others. By being kind to people, it is also being kind of ownself. Maybe I am selfish too, cos I want to live a life of happiness and dun want the burden of bitterness in my life, which is why I choose to be nice & kind to people. So what about you? Have you made your choice today?!

The Loyal Wife

There was a man who had worked all of his life, had saved all of his money, and was a real miser when it came to his money.

Just before he died, he said to his wife, 'When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the casket with me. I want to take my money to the "after-life" with me.'

And so he got his wife to promise him with all of her heart that when he died, she would put all of the money in the casket with him.

Well, he died . . . He was stretched out in the casket, his wife was sitting there in black, and her friend was sitting next to her. When they finished the ceremony, just before the undert! akers got ! ready to close the casket, the wife said, 'Wait, just a minute!'

She had a box with her, she came over with the box and put it in the casket.

Then the undertakers locked the casket down, and they rolled it away.

Her friend said, 'I know you weren't fool enough to put all that money in there in the casket with your husband.'

The loyal wife replied 'Listen, I can't go back on my word. I promised him that I was going to put that money in that casket with him.'

'You mean to tell me you put that money in the casket with him !!! ?'

'I sure did' said the wife. 'I got it all together, put it into my account and wrote ! him a cheque. If he can cash it, he can spend it.'

Moral of the story: *Women are cleverer than Men* ......
